Arsene Wenger’s All-Time Arsenal XI: French boss celebrates 20 years in charge

The lifecycle for a manager at a top football club is usually a very short spell of time. In most cases, you’re fortunate to get 3 or 4 years but in north London one man is celebrating two decades in charge of Arsenal; Arsene Wenger.

Arriving in 1996 to great scrutiny, given he was extremely unknown at the time and had been managing in Japan, Arsene Wenger’s rise has been dramatic. A double in his first full season in charge, leading the Gunners to the Premier League title without losing a single match and overseeing the lucrative transition from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium- he will go down in Arsenal folklore.

During his twenty years in charge, Arsene Wenger has brought through some tremendous talents and has played a part in the careers of some of the finest players in the history of world football- which made selecting his greatest ever side extremely difficult and we’re certain your opinions will vary to ours, so let us know your thoughts in the comments!

arsene-wenger-all-time-xi-formation-1

In goal, it was a very difficult decision to pick between David Seaman and Jens Lehmann. Seaman won three league titles with the Gunners and four FA Cups but Jens Lehmann’s defining claim of being between the sticks for Arsenal’s unbeaten Premier League triumph in 2004 gives him the edge- and he also boasts an FA Cup crown.

At the right-side of defence it was an equally difficult decision, with our main choices being Lauren or Lee Dixon. In the end, we went with the English defender that boasts four league titles, three FA Cups and a League Cup- but perhaps in a few years we’ll have to add Hector Bellerin to the debate.

The centre of defence pretty much picks itself, with iconic captain Tony Adams featuring alongside Sol Campbell- the man who crossed the north London divide and experienced great success, including scoring for the Gunners in the 2006 Champions League final. With six Premier League and six FA Cup titles between them, it’s a defensive partnership that would counter-act any strike-force.

A name that Arsenal fans may perhaps not like to see on the left is Ashley Cole but, as arguably Arsenal’s most famous graduate of their esteemed youth academy, the left-back simply had to feature. Before betraying the loyal supporters by abandoning his boyhood club to join Chelsea, Cole won a wealth of honours at Highbury- including two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.

Moving on to the midfield, Freddie Ljungberg is our choice on the right-side thanks to his incredible performances for the Gunners. A key-part of the unbeatable side in 2004, Ljungberg won an additional Premier League title in 2002 and lifted three FA Cups. He now coaches the U16 Arsenal side.

On the opposite flank, we’ve elected to go with Alexis Sanchez ahead of Robert Pires. Whilst the Frenchman was an integral part of the unbeatable side like Ljungberg, Alexis is a class apart for Arsenal. Having won the FA Cup at Arsenal, Alexis will be hoping to add further honours to his trophy cabinet and recently made his 100th appearance for the Gunners. He’s also won two Copa America titles with Chile.

arsene-wenger-all-time-xi-tactics

In the centre of midfield, our partnership sees Patrick Vieira play alongside his successor Cesc Fabregas. Vieira was a vital cog in the Arsenal machine in the mid-2000’s, a dominant era for Arsene Wenger’s side, whilst Fabregas stepped-up to fill the void after Vieira’s move to Juventus. Fabregas never won an honour at Arsenal but has won the World Cup and Premier League title, establishing himself as a world-class graduate of Arsenal’s youth system.

Where other areas of the pitch were difficult to select, the two strikers in our side walked into the team. Thierry Henry, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, is immortalised in bronze outside the Emirates Stadium for good reason, whilst his old strike-partner Dennis Bergkamp played a key-part in numerous Arsenal successes- as well as assisting many of Henry’s goals.

The Top 4 Signs It’s Time for New Undies

When was the last time you threw out those unsightly underpinnings? Good lingerie can last years, but should they really stick around that long? Not sure if it’s time to toss your undergarments? These are some obvious telltale signs that they just gotta go:

1. They’ve lost all of their elasticity.
Over time the elastic in the waistband eventually wears out, causing it to lose its shape — and potentially fall off your body. The same goes for your brassiere. “If your bra is no longer stretchy in the straps or back, it won’t offer the proper support,” says Lexie Sachs, a textiles product analyst in the the Good Housekeeping Institute.

2. They’re too small.
Because underwear is washed so often, shrinkage can be expected, especially if it’s made of cotton. You don’t want to cut off your circulation, so ditch any too-tiny briefs.

When it comes to your bra, your breasts probably change way more than you realize, so that bra that was once a perfect fit might be causing you some problems including back pain, and even saggy boobs. Look out for spillage, a band that doesn’t lay horizontal, and tightness even on the last hook — all signs your bra is too small.

3. They’re uncomfortable.
This should be a given, but if you have a pair of undies that just don’t feel right — throw them away. Especially if you’re a fan of the lacy version, which after multiple washes can get rough and potentially cause cysts and irritation, warns Mona Gohara, M.D., and Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Yale School of Medicine.

4. They don’t have the same shape.
If the padding or cups of your bra shift and rumple, it’s time to buy a new one, says Sachs. The last thing you want are gaps or bulges — your cups should align with your breast. Otherwise, you’re not getting the support you need, which is why you’re wearing a bra in the first place.

Even though your undergarments might now show these signs of wear and tear right away, you should still plan to replace them every six months to a year. The good news? If you frequently rotate your bras and undies, you can make them last much longer.

Welcome Autumn with an Interior Update

Just as you change the types of clothing you wear every season, it’s also best to change up your interiors. You don’t need to make drastic alterations; adding one thing or two pieces, or just changing some pieces is certainly enough to change the ambiance of a room. Let the changing of leaves and crisp breeze inspire you to do some of the tips below:

Autumn Textures
Growing accustomed to the new season comes easy with warm cushion covers and sofa blankets. Get your indoors feeling new by updating your curtains, carpets and bed sheets with an autumn colour palette.
Choose curtain colours that showcase nature by drawing on shades of gold, burnt orange, rich browns and creamy tones. Neutrals colours and splashes of yellow can also contribute some autumn charm to your home.
Keep in mind that although it precedes winter, the autumn months have a different decorative element to winter. Remember to:
Avoid thick curtains and bed sheets that will overwhelm your interior space.
Opt for soft rugs and patterned throw cushions that will accentuate the autumn colours. Source: OneFlare

Bowls of Seasonal Fruits
A trip to the grocery store is all it takes. Load your cart up with fresh apples, pears, berries and nuts and you will have a healthy and environmentally pleasing display. Other ideas are to bring the outdoors inside. Bundle sticks and branches together and place them by the fireplace or in vases and jars.  Pine cones of all shapes and sizes can look quite lovely in large glass or ceramic bowls. Autumn decor shouldn’t have to cost too much. Source: Freshome

Candles
Der! We all know candles look great any time of year but they really come into their own and create a lovely glow when the nights are drawing in. Think more wintery, spicier fragrances rather than zesty summer scents. Source: TheInteriorsAddict

5 Tips on Maintaining Your Steam Shower

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Steam showers are pricier than your average shower, but considering all the benefits, we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s worth the investment. Bearing in mind how much the cost is, as much as possible we would want to maintain the state of our newly installed steam shower as it is. The trick is to be on top of things and not wait until the damage becomes hard to fix, and to do that, follow the tips below:

Steam Shower/ Whirlpool Bathtub DA328F3-1 59.1″x32″x87″

Weak Steam Output
After about 20 showers its good practice to clean the steam generator
Fill the tank with between 5 to 10 grams of citric acid diluted with about 1.5 liters of warm water.
Let it set for 12 hours before turning it on to heat the water. This will vaporize the citric acid.
The steam generator will have a manual drain valve. This valve should be drained approximately every 2 months. You may have to remove any large clumps by hand. Source: Bathroomz

Inspecting for Tightness of Seals and Joints
Silicone seals, water supply joints, valves, and nozzles should be checked at least once a year. If the silicone seals are loose, replace them. Sealing the doors and walls is quite easy. Nozzles, joints, and drainage systems can be tightened or repaired using the most basic plumbing skills. Source: DoItYourself

It’s Worth It to Squeegee
Water can leave behind minerals that create a whitish haze over glass doors and tile. The longer the minerals sit, the harder they are to remove. So a quick squeegee after the last shower of the day will make cleaning easier in the long run. Source: HGTV

A Natural Alternative
A mixture of baking soda and water makes a scum-fighting scrub that many experts swear by. Measurements for the mixture will vary depending on how much you need. To get started, try using a half-cup of baking soda, and then add water as needed to make a thick paste. Using a nonabrasive sponge, scrub the glass and rinse it with vinegar. Source: Houzz

Maintaining Steam
Hot, damp areas are perfect incubators for mold and mildew. After using your steam shower, open the door to dry out your bathroom, and run the exhaust fan to suck out the steam.
Every few months, flush the unit to get rid of calcium deposits. Source: Houselogic

3 Tips for Cleaning Bathroom Grout

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Do you need to clean the grout in your bathroom? It doesn’t have to be complicated with these helpful cleaning tips!

Below are 3 tips for cleaning bathroom grout:

Steam Cleaners
Steam cleaners can be an effective and environmentally-friendly method of cleaning grout—or for that matter, many other surfaces around the house. Bissell, Oreck, Ladybug and Hoover all make steam cleaners for residential use. To keep your grout clean and stain-free, it’s a good idea to spray it with vinegar and wipe it down once a week. You can also wipe grout with alcohol to keep mold and mildew at bay. In any case, just a few spritzes and wipes a week can save you a lot of time and effort cleaning, preserving the attractive appearance of your home in the process. Source:  BobVila

Vinegar and Baking Soda
Fill your spray bottle with a 1:1 solution of vinegar and water and spray the work area generously. Let the solution sit for about five minutes, then follow up with a grout brush or a scrub brush. If you don’t have one of these, a toothbrush works in a pinch. Rinse with warm water.
In a small bowl, make a paste with baking soda and water. Dip your toothbrush or grout brush in the paste and work it into the grout. Spray the area with your vinegar + water solution. The vinegar will cause the baking soda to bubble up and will start to work away that nasty soap scum. Use your brush and get all the way into the grout lines to remove buildup. Rinse with warm water. Source: ApartmentTherapy

Commercial Grout Cleaner
Try oxygen bleach products. This is another name for sodium percarbonate, which is a compound made of hydrogen peroxide and soda crystals. Brand-name products include Clorox, OxiClean, Oxi Magic, and Bio Kleen. Mix the product with water as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Apply to the affected area and let it sit for up to an hour before scrubbing and rinsing.

  • Be sure to use these products in a well-ventilated area, and avoid contact with your skin. Always wear gloves to use these products.
  • Always spot test commercial products in a small area on your grout to make sure the product won’t discolor, erode, or damage your grout. Don’t use any sort of bleach product on colored grout.

Use a commercial grout cleaner and whitener. There are many cleaners out there that are designed specifically for grout, and most of them can be purchased at hardware stores. Be sure to always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use, and follow all the safety precautions. Commercial grout cleaners include:

  • Zep
  • Goo Gone Grout
  • Outrageous
  • Tilex Tile and Grout

Beware of chemical combinations. In case you find one chemical hasn’t worked and you want to try another, be sure to wash the area and wait a couple days before trying something new. Just like hydrogen peroxide and vinegar can combine to form peracetic acid, so too can commercial cleansers mix to form poisonous gasses, caustic liquids, and noxious fumes. Source: wikiHow

Cleaning grout isn’t just about the type of tile cleaner you use – it’s also about the methods you employ for getting the stains out.  We hope these tips will help you out with your grout cleaning needs!

Manchester City 2016/17 Tactics: Can anyone stop Guardiola!?

Manchester City have got off to a flying start this season under new boss Pep Guardiola, winning their first eight games in all competitions and scoring 25 goals in the process- including eight in their last two matches, with comfortable victories against Bournemouth and Borussia Monchengladbach.

The question now is whether the Citizens can keep this sort of form up for the remainder of the season and whether they can transfer these performances onto the European stage, especially with two huge clashes with Guardiola’s former employers, Barcelona, coming up.

Having stormed to success in Spain with Barcelona and Germany with Bayern Munich, Guardiola looks on course for further honours with Manchester City- and we’ve dissected his squad today to have a look at his tactics.

man-city-formation-new

With Joe Hart ousted and sent on-loan to Serie A minnows Torino for the season, Manchester City splashed the cash to bring in Claudio Bravo from Barcelona. His debut against Manchester United wasn’t the best of performances but he’s been a huge player in the past two years for Barca, who have won back-to-back La Liga crowns, and his ability on the ball is what makes him perfect in Pep Guardiola’s eyes.

The full-back positions at Manchester City are arguably the weakest in the squad, with ageing pair Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna featuring here, but under Guardiola’s tactics the French duo have been given a new lease of life. Both are crucial to City going forward, providing width and creating a partnership with the attacking midfielders ahead of him, so there’s certainly a lot more to come here.

Whilst Vincent Kompany has played a bit-part this season due to his recovery from injury, the skipper still remains as the best defender in the squad. When fit, he’ll lead the side and can hope to lift a trophy or two this season- whilst his experience can rub off onto his new central-defensive partner, John Stones, and potentially mould the England international into a future captain for club and country.

Another player who’s enjoyed remarkable form in the early days under Guardiola is midfield powerhouse Fernandinho, who in current form is one of the best defensive midfielders in world football. The Brazilian has shone and should improve his performances in the coming weeks with a new partner alongside him, German international Ilkay Gundogan, as the former Borussia Dortmund man is being bled into the side following his injury troubles.

At the focal point of attacking midfield is Belgian ace Kevin De Bruyne, who enjoyed a relatively good debut season back in the Premier League last term but has taken his performances up a notch this season- with two goals and three assists in his opening five games of the new season. If he continues this form, he’s a shoe-in for Player of the Year.

Out wide, Raheem Sterling is finally showing his potential once more after a difficult debut season following his move from Liverpool last summer and Pep Guardiola is certainly getting the best out of him. With two assists, he’s already equalled his tally for the whole of last season and his three Premier League goals thus far almost put him level on goals- with the England international scoring just six in 31 Premier League matches last term.

On the other side, Spaniard Nolito has shown positive performances in his first month in Manchester, despite a late red-card at the weekend against Bournemouth, and in his absence we can expect to see more of young Leroy Sane. Just 20, Sane will be in-and-out of the side this season but will be a huge part of the Citizen’s future.

Finally, leading the line is star-man Sergio Aguero- arguably the only Premier League player who has a chance of rivalling Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the crown of best player in the world. The Argentine is currently serving a suspension but, in his absence, Nigerian ace Kelechi Iheanacho has shown he is capable of filling the void- which is huge news given Aguero’s injury record in recent years, as previously it was suggested they would struggle without him.

man-city-tactics

As well as the mentioned names, City still have the likes of Nicolas Otamendi and David Silva to call upon, two players who are up there with the best in the division, and their immense squad depth should certainly help them this season as they look to compete on all fronts.

Last year, City reached the semi-finals of the Champions League but performed poorly in two-legs against eventual winners Real Madrid but this term they could potentially go all the way. Whilst there is a long way to go, given their performances this season you certainly wouldn’t bet against them.

3 Tips for Fitting a Roller Blind

Putting roller blinds on your windows is a quick and affordable way to give any room privacy and shade.  Here are some tips on fitting a roller blind, including: measuring the width, installing the brackets and adjusting the blinds.

Below are 3 tips on fitting a roller blind:

Measuring the Width
If you want to hang the blind inside the window frame, measure the width of the blind including the mounting brackets. Allow 5 mm extra space at each side of the frame so you can fit the brackets easily.
Decide whether you want to fit the chain of the roller blind on the left or right side. After marking out the position, fix the brackets inside or onto the window frame. The bracket with a protruding pin, hex-head fitting or groove is usually the side with the chain mechanism. Check first if this is the case, as it can differ from one brand to another. Source: DIY4Beginners

Installing the Brackets
So let’s get started. Firstly, offer up the blind to the window – it’s very important you fit the brackets as accurately as possible to ensure a snug fit.
You will have already decided whether to fit your blinds to the inside or outside of the window recess.
To fit outside the recess, position your brackets here
To fit inside the recess, you can choose whether to top fix into the lintel or face fix into your window frame.
To top fix, position your brackets here (recommended for uPVC windows). Make sure you allow enough clearance for any objects that could obstruct the blind, like window handles. Do this by measuring how far the handle sticks out, and make the same allowance when fitting your brackets.
To face fix position your brackets here (recommended for wooden window frames).
Fit the brackets into each end of your blind. Now position your blind at your window, using the brackets to mark where the holes should go. Don’t forget to position your blind correctly, depending on whether you are top fixing or face fixing your blind!
Now drill or screw into position, using rawl plugs where necessary. Source: Web-Blinds

Adjusting the Blinds
If you’re lucky, the blind will fit exactly. If the blind you have purchased is too long or wide, you can cut the roller and the blind to fit.

  • Measure the distance between the brackets, then deduct the amount stated on the instructions supplied.
  • Unroll the blind. Mark and cut the roller and the lath (the strip of wood or metal at the bottom) using a hacksaw.
  • Mark and cut the blind with sharp scissors.
  • Push the end plug and side control into the ends of the roller (making sure they are on the correct sides), then slot the blind into the brackets.
  • Finish up. Slide the blind into place on the brackets. Check that it is sitting straight and that the length is good. Pull the blind up and down to check that the cord or other mechanism is working properly. Tidy up any loose ends, such as a cord that is dangling down too low (these can usually be adjusted using the little snaps that are already fitted on them). Source: wikiHow

3 Inexpensive Ways to Transform Your Bathroom

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

You can easily pour a ton of money into a bathroom remodel, but there are also some more cost-effective options. Check out these simple and inexpensive ways to make your bathroom look and function better.

Below are 3 inexpensive ways to transform your bathroom:

Repurposed Storage
Add stylish storage using flea market finds. If your bathroom is too small for a freestanding piece of furniture, consider adding a vintage shelf or old drawer backed with pretty paper that hangs on the wall and stores bath essentials. Clean and give it a fresh coat of paint. To hang a drawer-turned-shelf, drill through the back and into studs in the wall. Source: BHG

Updated Fixtures
Next, look at the little details. You can update light fixtures, sink faucets, towel racks, and drawer pulls for a relatively small investment. These items may seem insignificant, but updating them can make a big difference in your bathroom’s look. Check out sites like ModernBathroom.com for ideas. The items may be out of your price range but you can find ways to replicate the look for less.
Keep in mind that you don’t always have to buy towel racks at a home improvement store or IKEA. One of my friends used old plumbing for her towel racks and it gave her bathroom a very cool, industrial feel. Plus, since she rescued them out of an old house that was about to be torn down, they were free! Source: MoneyCrashers

Add a Fresh Coat of Paint
A new color on the walls can completely change the look of your bathroom. Many cabinets can be painted — think about switching yours (this is my next project). Oh yeah, and you can use your soap-scummy old shower curtain liner that you replaced as a dropcloth. Source: Houzz

Juventus & Inter Milan: Combined XI 2016/17

This Sunday sees the two Serie A title favourites go toe-to-toe, as Inter Milan and Juventus clash. Turin giants Juventus have dominated Italian football this decade but Inter, under new owners, are looking to lessen Juve’s grip on the Scudetto title and bring some glory years back to Milan.

It’s been a while since fans of either San Siro side has had anything to shout about, with AC Milan also underperforming in recent seasons, but Inter have a strong chance this term of success. With the likes of Mauro Icardi and young Gabriel Barbosa leading the line, they boast one of the strongest attacks in the league.

However, Juventus are a class apart on paper at least. Relatively unbeatable in recent seasons, storming to success after success, the Old Lady still managed to bolster their squad in the summer with the additions of Miralim Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain- lessening the blow of losing Paul Pogba to Manchester United.

It’s certainly not an easy task dissecting these two sides and coming up with a combined XI but we relish a challenge. Let us know your teams in the comments below!

inter-milan-juventus-combined-formation

Whilst the rest of the team isn’t easy to choose from, there was only one man we could select in goal: Gianluigi Buffon. The Italian football icon is one of the best goalkeepers in football history and, despite being 38-years-old, he continues to shine at the very top of the game and has been an integral part of Juventus’ rise back to the top after the scandal that rocked Italian football a decade ago.

The pairing in central-defence was also relatively easy to choose, as we went for Juventus’ rock-solid duo of Georgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci; who are crucial for both club and country. Widely regarded to be the best defensive partnership in the world, the experienced duo walk their way into our side.

On the flanks, we’ve gone for two experienced players and one from both sides. Representing Inter Milan on the left is Argentine as Cristian Ansaldi, who is a new signing at the San Siro following a successful loan spell with Genoa last season, whilst another Serie A new boy, Dani Alves, features on the right. Having won everything he can get his hands on with Barcelona, the Brazilian full-back will be looking for additional success in a new league this term.

In midfield, the central pair also features two experienced heads in Inter’s Ever Banega and Juventus’ Sami Khedira. Banega is another new face at Inter, having arrived from Sevilla, and his experiences winning two consecutive Europa League crowns will be vital to Inter’s push for glory. Khedira, meanwhile, has put behind injury problems in recent years to fill the void left by Arturo Vidal last summer.

Out the right side, Juan Cuadrado features having found his feet in Italy following a disappointing spell with Chelsea. He became a fan-favourite at the club last season following his loan move and will look to enjoy the same respect from the fans this term after making his switch to Turin permanent in the summer.

inter-milan-juventus-combined-tactics

On the left, we’ve opted for another of Inter’s new faces; Antonio Candreva. With 150 Serie A appearances with Lazio under his belt, Candreva arrives in Milan with a strong reputation in Italian football that should help the club reach their aspirations in the coming years- especially if he creates a partnership with Inter’s talented attack.

Speaking of the attack, the two names featuring for our side were extremely easy to pick. Gonzalo Higuain, having scored 71 goals in 104 Serie A appearances for Napoli, is destined to become a superstar in Turin and should storm the goalscoring charts this season- although he faces competition from his strike-partner in this combined XI.

Completing the attack is Inter Milan’s young captain, Mauro Icardi. Just 23-years-old, Icardi has already scored fifty goals in Serie A for Inter and is one of the finest strikers under the age of 25 in world football. His capability of carrying the armband for such a big club is testament to his maturity and he’s definitely one to watch in the coming years.

3 Things to Consider When Choosing Fabric for your Window Treatments

When it comes to choosing fabric for your window treatments there are a few things you should consider, including: color, pattern and style, and durability and thread count.

Color
You’ll need to decide if you want the curtains to blend with the decor or to pop. For blending, pick curtains that are the same tone as the wall but a few shades darker, or choose a non-dominant subtle color in the room (a soft shade from the rug, say). A bold color will work like an exclamation point (if you’re looking to add some wow). Also keep in mind that in a space where the sun shines through unlined curtains, the color will infuse the room. Blue can be eerie; pink, cheery. Source: RealSimple

Pattern and Style
If you are using a patterned fabric, it is important that you realise you will require quite a lot more fabric than if you have a plain colored fabric, as you will have to allow extra meterage for the pattern repeat of the fabric. This allows all joins to be made to match the pattern across the which means the curtain. So it falls into the budget category of selecting fabric, as you will need more meterage, at you will spend more on your fabric price.
Stripes – vertical striped curtains give the appearance of making a room look taller and horizontal curtains appear to make the room look wider.
Styles – already covered but does influence the fabric selection, ie chintz for an english country look, cherry blossom on silk for a Japanese theme, if you used them in the opposite way they would both be beautiful fabrics but totally inappropriate for their style or theme. Source: Education.InteriorDezine

Durability and Thread Count
Over time, the sun can damage all fabrics, but silks are especially prone to sun rot. Some of the window fabrics least prone to sun rot are chintzes, brocades, and cotton canvas.
Generally speaking, decorator fabrics have a higher thread count than fabrics used for making clothes, so decorator fabrics last a bit longer. Some of these fabrics need to be dry-cleaned; check the fabric bolt tag or cylinder tag. Source: Dummies

How To Build A Bookcase

My wife loves to read. I mean, she really loves to read. Not digitally though. She says flipping the pages and physically holding a book are part of the experience. No Kindle or tablets for her. This means we have a LOT of books in our house. Which is fine because she does read them ...

Manchester United & Manchester City: Combined XI 2016/17

Tomorrow sees one of the biggest games of the season in the Premier League, with title favourites Manchester United and Manchester City going toe-to-toe in a mouthwatering clash that also presents a number of sub-plots, most notably seeing Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola renew their rivalry.

Whilst that battle has adorned the back pages, there’s plenty to watch on the field as the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne come up against each other in a match that arguably displays the very best talent within England’s top-flight.

Ahead of the Manchester derby, we decided to make the very tough call of selecting a combined XI from the two wonderful squads and it certainly wasn’t easy, as a number of big-names players have missed out!

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea kicks our team off between the sticks, getting the nod ahead of Claudio Bravo- who’s set to make his debut for the Citizens in one of the biggest games of the season following his arrival from Barcelona. The Champions League winner would get the nod for many but De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the division and has the experience in the Premier League that Chilean ace Bravo doesn’t yet boast.

In defence, it’s a fair split for the two Manchester sides with a duo of defenders from both sides of the divide. From the Citizens, Pablo Zabaleta gets the nod at right-back, arguably the weakest areas of both squads, whilst City skipper Vincent Kompany is an easy choice to slot into the centre.

Alongside the Belgian ace, new Manchester United man Eric Bailly makes our selection following his fantastic start to life in the Premier League. On the left Luke Shaw, who suffered a horrific injury last season, features and he should have a solid campaign ahead of him.

Midfield is where things start to get extremely tricky due to the immense depth both sides boast but, again, it’s two from each side. Kevin De Bruyne starred in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and has made a massive impact in his first year with Manchester City, whilst Raheem Sterling is back to his best under the guidance of Pep Guardiola- keeping the likes of David Silva and Nolito out of our squad.

From the red half of Manchester, it was impossible to overlook the most expensive player in the world, Paul Pogba. Whilst the French international has had a slow start in his return to the Premier League, he’ll certainly find his feet quickly and excel. The same can be said for fellow new signing, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who impressed thoroughly with Borussia Dortmund last season.

In attack, we’re treated to two of the best strikers in the division. Questions where asked of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and whether he could still impress in English football but he’s erased any worries with an electric start to life in Manchester, scoring on his Premier League debut and netting three goals thus far.

Sergio Aguero completes the line-up but will unfortunately be missing for tomorrow’s match due to suspension. The Argentine ace is a firm-favourite at the City of Manchester Stadium for good reason, so he’ll certainly be missed when the two titans of English football clash tomorrow.

As mentioned, there’s a wealth of talent excluded from this squad with City stars Silva, John Stones, Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan and more missing, whilst United don’t have captain Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia and others selected.

It’s not an easy task picking from these two insanely talented squads, so let us know your combined XI’s in the comments below and on Twitter using #TopEleven!

Things to Consider Before You Design the Interior of Your Restaurant

The design of a restaurant is as important as the chef, cuisine specializations, website, and food. There are many interior design ideas for restaurants, and you may choose whatever best suits your taste and budget. However, there are certain things that must be kept in mind when picking or implementing a design. At the end of the day, the restaurant design should not only stand out from the crowd but also influence the dining experience.

The Beginning Phase

Consider your guests’ comfort before you start renovating or painting the space. It’s important you make good use of the available space without stuffing things close together. Also consider the ambiance you’d like to create. When looking through template restaurant design options or customizations, keep the customer in mind. For this, you should factor in the waiting and entry area, primary dining space, patio and private dining area, and bar and server stations.

Concept

Specialty dining is currently in vogue. But that doesn’t mean fast food and burger joints are running out of business. The interior design should gel well with the food being served. Ultimately, you’d not want your Chinese themed restaurant to serve Italian food. While working on the restaurant theme, match your branding with the restaurant’s feel and look. This would help tie the customers together. As aforementioned, the restaurant’s interior design, packaging, menu, website, exterior and branding should add to the whole dining experience.

Colours

Colours reflect the restaurant theme, and take forward the brand’s online presence. They have a major role to play with satisfying customer quotient. Fast food restaurants can be often seen sporting basic colours such as red, yellow and green. As per research, these colours are supposed to stimulate appetite. On the contrary, blue doesn’t create hunger pangs. But blue can still be seen adorning fine dining restaurants, as the colour has a calming impact on diners and makes them feel satisfied and comfortable. With blue around, time also passes through quickly.

Lighting

Based on the theme chosen, lighting could either break or enhance the design. Generally, natural light is considered ideal, with large windows adding to the restaurant’s airy feel. In addition to the visual treat, sunlight also naturally influences health – both psychologically and physically. Sunlight is best made use of by open-air eating areas.

Artificial light also has its place and it adds a lot to restaurant ambiance. Use yellow or golden electric lighting, fireplaces or candles for creating warmth. In cozier spaces, such lighting could create a sense of intimacy. Use chandeliers or modern lighting in big spaces, provided the primary restaurant concept gives away.

Common Types of Curtain Rods for Window Treatment

There are different types of curtain rods that best fit a specific window treatment. In this short post we’ll cover some of the most common types of curtain rods for window treatments, such as: basic white metal rods, track and tension rods and decorative rods.

Basic White Metal Rods
This is the Corn Flakes of the curtain rods. They’re sometimes called valance and come in flat and round styles. Most of these are somewhat lightweight and made for lighter weight window coverings. Today you can get them as single, double and even triple. The double and triple rods are used for a layered look, like a semi-sheer curtain behind a room darkening drape. With this you can add a valance to your layered coverings. Source: wikiHow

Track and Tension Rods
Track Rods: Drapery hooks attach to pulleys inside a track. Can be installed on a wall or the ceiling. Some tracks resemble a rod with finials, concealing all moving parts inside the pole. Curtains glide effortlessly.
Tension Rods: The easiest and cheapest but least sturdy option, it adjusts to fit inside a window frame with no hardware. Barebones, it’s meant only for lightweight panels or cafĂ© curtains. Source: RealSimple

Decorative Rods
Curtain panels trailing from a decorative rod are the most classic of treatments for any window configuration. Accentuate the architecture of multiple windows by suspending a narrow panel between each pane. For a bay window that projects beyond the room’s footprint, simply mount the rod on the foreground wall. Source: BHG

We hope this article will be able to guide you in choosing curtain rods that can perfectly fit your window treatments. For more information, call us now!
